Company Profile
- ecoTech Umwelt-Meßsysteme was founded 1984 in Bonn; the company’s legal status was changed into ecoTech Umwelt-Meßsysteme GmbH in 1991. Our staff includes scientists, engineers, and technicians. ecoTech develops and brings to the market measurement-systems and measurement devices for hydrology, soil science, ecology and meteorology.
- We see ourselves as our customers’ scientific and technical partners and emphasize a highly qualified consultation regarding the project and the recommended products. Our strength is to have close cooperation with research facilities, environmental agencies and engineering offices and a profound knowledge of current problems in the field of environmental monitoring. Our technical solutions and developments are continuously aligned by experts to current future demands.
- We offer services and products made to specification in addition to our continuously expanding product range all on approx. 500 sqm of premises of existing electronics and mechanics workshops and a water laboratory,
- An important focus in the field of hydrology is monitoring water quality using multi-parameter sensors manufactured by YSI Inc., Ohio, USA. These instruments are often part of monitoring stations for lakes and open streams. They are also often used manually. In 2002, the automatic water sampler AWS2002 was developed. Combined with a YSI sensor it can take water samples event-driven. The data transfer of complex monitoring stations or just single level sensors use the fully automatic enviWatch-system, developed in 2007.
- Attention in the area of soil science is focused on the soil water and the linked solute transport. In many cases, tried and tested results of our research and development activities are suction cups and suction plates, optimized for getting soil water samples with low loss and representative for the area. To record one main driver for the solute availability, we have developed a new Redox-electrode for continuous installation in the field. Since 2007, we have also focused on the patented pF-meter, which measures water tension in the range of pF 0 to pF 7 maintenance-free, and frost-resistant. This device is used more often in reference projects rather than tensiometers. To create pF curves of soil samples in the laboratory, we have implemented the groundbreaking suction plate-technique in our pF-laboratory-station. This has been extended by several modules from 2005.
